Flywheel Gears

Flywheel was piloted until 2026-08 and then discontinued.

Flywheel calls it's containerized pipelines “gears.” The are categorized as either utility or analysis gears.

• locally installed gears listed on https://fw.mrrc.upmc.edu/#/gears/
• Those from the gear exchange can be installed with fw-beta gear install ¹⁾
• hpc-client on cerebro2 queries for hpc tagged jobs to dispatch to slurm instead of running locally.
